Other Responses

In this day and age, fire departments no longer respond to only fires and rescue incidents. Hazardous materials spills, CO detectors and many other miscellaneous incidents have forced the fire service to evolve into a multi-agency response unit.

Grass Fire

1.) Pump 209
2.) Pump 206

CO Detector

1.) Pump 201
2.) Pump 209

Medical

These responses include possible heart attacks, chest pains, lacerations and other instances where a fire hazard does not exist. We respond 1 of two trucks dependent on the available manpower.

  1. Rescue 208
  2. Pump 209

House/Structure Fire

A structure fire within the town limits where hydrants are available and a structure fire outside of town where there are no hydrants dictates our response.

City

  1. Pump 201
  2. Pump 203
  3. Rescue 208
  4. Tank 204 (if needed)
  5. Pump 206 and/or Pump 209 (if needed)

Rural

  1. Pump 203
  2. Tank 204
  3. Pump 201
  4. Rescue 208
  5. Pump 206 and/or Pump 209 (if needed)

Vehicle Accident

Because U.S. Highway 33 runs through Churubusco, we find ourselves responding to numerous motor vehicle accidents annually. However, because we cover such a vast array of rural area, we find ourselves responding to ATV accidents. If it is a highway accident, we would respond:

  1. Pump 201
  2. Rescue 208

If it is a rural accident, the response might be:

  1. Pump 209
  2. Pump 201
  3. Rescue 208
